Fire & Ice Gala

It was a sizzling night at the Animal Welfare League’s Fire & Ice Gala at Charlotte Harbor Event & Conference Center. More than a gala…it was a spectacular production where guests were treated to dinner, dancing and music by DJ Mondo and Kitt Moran. As the lights dimmed, a vintage Cadillac convertible, owned and driven by Jim Kantor, rolled into the ballroom with surprise guest Marilyn Monroe (aka Kelley Thomas) sitting on the back seat and singing “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend” to the crowd of more than 500 guests. John Wright, president of the Punta Gorda Chamber of Commerce, was the Master of Ceremonies for this wonderful evening that raised funds for the Animal Welfare League.
