Jimmy Dean is the former publisher of SARASOTA and GULFSHORE LIFE Magazines and has lived in and helped chronicle this area of the Gulf coast for more than 35 years. Born and raised in North Carolina, he began coming to Florida regularly as a child, eventually relocating here at age 27 following “one hell of a good run” in broadcasting. He and his wife, Paige, have four energetic teenagers. When an attempt at retirement failed (Paige couldn’t handle FIVE children around the house), Jimmy purchased HARBOR STYLE in partnership with the SUN newspapers in 2007.
Liz Green is a graduate of Rollins College with a degree in English. Her love of words, storytelling and people eventually led her to HARBOR STYLE after nine years in Orlando. Well, that and the fact that her husband-to-be lived here. Liz serves on the board of the Fred Lang Foundation, the fundraising arm for Charlotte Behavioral Health Care. She loves coffee and flamingos. Her hobbies include reading, explaining the proper use of “it’s” and “its” to her co-workers, and spending time with the men in her life: husband Jason and sons Jackson and Brendan.
Paige Dean has lived in Southwest Florida for nearly 22 years and has a strong background in customer relations, management and technology. She holds an Economics degree from University of Virginia and an MBA in International Business and Marketing from Thunderbird, The American Graduate School of International Management. She is the mother to four extremely active children, and, oh yeah, she’s married to that Jimmy Dean guy.
Simone Coseo has been with HARBOR STYLE since December 2016. She previously worked at the Englewood SUN and sold for the Sun Newspapers. She has vast experience in sales and was the Membership Director at Venetian Golf & River Club in Venice for seven years. She moved to Florida from Arizona where she was a Spa & Fitness Director for many years…with a short, six-month position at Peter Island Resort & Spa in the BVI back in 2004. She also volunteers on the Board of Trustees for Suncoast Humane Society, attends monthly Chamber networking events, has 4 rescue dogs and one foster, and in her spare time she transports rescue dogs from kill shelters to safe fosters or rescues…oh and one blind rooster.
Laureen Martel has over 30 years of experience in sales, marketing and consulting with small, medium and start-up businesses throughout North America in the software industry arena. After hitting yet another million-mile airline status and with her daughter entering high school, she decided it was time to get off the road, spend more time with family and become more active in the local community. She logged many hours as a volunteer focused on fundraising, business sponsorships, IT support and event planning before joining HARBOR STYLE in April of 2016. Now she logs car miles not airplane miles and thoroughly enjoys promoting our local businesses.
Scott Spear is a graduate of The Ringling College of Art and Design and an award winning creative director with more than 20 years of agency and publishing experience here in Southwest Florida at firms such as Clarke Advertising and Stephen A. Smith & Associates. His portfolio includes the redesign of the ever-present BEALL’S logo as well as the logo for the Sarasota Chamber of Commerce. Scott and his daughter currently reside in Sarasota.
Michelle came to HARBOR STYLE in February of 2016 (she showed up one day and just never left). She has more than 20 years in the print and design/graphics industry. When Michelle is not working she enjoys spending time with her husband of 17 years and two active boys (12 & 14), volunteering and occasionally sneaking in a nap or two.
